Biographical / Historical
Nancy Galantiere was an American abstract expressionist painter born about 1907. She began painting soon after leaving Miss Porter’s School in Farmington, Connecticut. She studied under Hans Hofmann and Kuniyoshi, her first show in New York was held at the Downtown Gallery. She had a solo exhibition at the neighboring de Young museum in 1948 before this show at the Legion of Honor in 1955. In 1964, she held an exhibition at the Rose Fried Gallery in New York. She died December 5, 1969 in New York.
