Scope and Contents

An exhibition of 60 masks comparing the religious, decorative, and festival masks across the globe including masks from Austria, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Mexico, Guatemala, China, Tibet, Africa, Japan, New Guinea, and Native Americans of the Pacific Northwest and Southwestern U.S. An additional section showed papier mache masks created by the children who attended the museum’s Saturday morning art classes.
The exhibition records span three folders and include a price list, lender correspondence, and registration receipts. The Bulletin of the California Palace of the Legion of Honor Vol. 11, No. 8 served as the exhibition bulletin and is in the catalog collection. Installation photograph prints are in the photograph collection. Installation photograph negatives are in the quarantine box.

The Bulletin of the California Palace of the Legion of Honor Vol. 11, No. 8 served as the exhibition bulletin and is in the Legion of Honor Exhibition Catalog collection in box 1. Installation photograph prints are housed in the Legion of Honor Exhibition Photograph collection in box 15.
