Scope and Contents

An exhibition examining the use and imagery of feathers in art and objects across cultures, including native and indigenous cultures of North America, South America, the South Pacific, and Hawaii. As well as feathers in circus paraphernalia and Victorian styles, bird specimens, and various clothing and art objects.
The exhibition records span eight folders and include a press release, object and price lists, planning notes and correspondence, general correspondence, insurance information, and registration receipts. The Bulletin of the California Palace of the Legion of Honor Vol. 10, No. 7 served as the exhibition catalog and is in the catalog collection. Clippings are in the clipping collection. Installation and object photograph prints and negatives are in the photograph collection. Photographs of models wearing hats are also in the photograph collection.
