Scope and Contents
An exhibition of Christian religious art objects, including chasubles, icons, chalices, and enamels. A special collection of illuminated books by sixteenth century Italian artists were lent by the Dominican College of San Rafael, California. Notably, American artist Ansel Adams photographed the collection and lent his photographs to the exhibition for publication.
The exhibition records span three folders and include object description, lender correspondence, and registration receipts. The Bulletin of the California Palace of the Legion of Honor Vol. 9, No. 8 served as the exhibition bulletin and is in the catalog collection. Installation photograph prints and negatives are in the photograph collection.
