Scope and Contents

An exhibition of art by artists of the Pacific Islands, representing Samoa, Marquesas Islands, New Zealand, Easter Island, Fiji, New Guinea, and the Solomon Islands. Over 50 items were lent by the University Museum, Philadelphia, supplemented by loans from local collections.
The exhibition records span six folders and include planning correspondence, general correspondence, a transcript from a radio broadcast, shipping and loan information, registration receipts, and collateral from other installations. The Bulletin of the California Palace of the Legion of Honor Vol. 9, No. 2 served as the exhibition bulletin and is in the catalog collection. A copy of the exhibition catalog is in the catalog collection. Installation and photograph prints and negatives are in the photograph collection.
