Scope and Contents
The first annual spring juried exhibition of paintings curated by the Legion of Honor that was open to artists all over the world. This exhibition was inspired by the 1945 Contemporary American Painting exhibition that accompanied the United Nations Conference. It was largely realized by Paul Verdier, President of the Board of Trustees.
The exhibition records span 15 folders and include an exhibition description, artist information, price list, planning notes and receipts, awards information, collateral, correspondence, and registration receipts. A copy of the exhibition catalog is in the catalog collection. The Bulletin of the California Palace of the Legion of Honor Vol. 3, No. 12 also covered the exhibition and is available in the archives. Clippings are in the clipping collection. Object photograph prints are in the photograph collection and object photograph negatives are in the quarantine box.
